Some things that could change in my career

Hi classmates! Today I will tell you about some things that could change in my career.  In first place, I would like to clarify that I really like the career. But, if I had the possibility to make any change at it, I might choose some things of the curriculum, the workload of studies, the infrastructure of FACSO, the teaching methods and the increase in the use of technology. Talking about the changes in the curriculum, I would like to transform into elective some subjects that are currently obligatory. In particular, I think that the specialization subjects, as: “political sociology”, “sociology of culture”, “economic sociology” and “sociology of organizations”, could be transformed into elective subjects, for the years of the career and the workload of studies decrease. Also, I think that the infrastructure is very important in the learning process. In this sense, I believe that the study rooms and the classrooms have some problems at it. Above all, I think that is very imp...

My opinion about different topics

Hi classmates! Today I will tell you about my opinion on different topics. More specifically, I will tell you about: the Chilean politicians, buying instead of adopting pets, climate change, and recycling.  The Chilean politicians In my opinion the Chilean politicians they earn too much money for the work they do and the privileges they have. I disagree with the practice they have because I think it's not right, for example, absent to a session in Congress to delay a discussion due to lack of quorum or pay personal or family trips with the money of their travel allowance. Buying instead of adopting pets I believe that buying pets is a horrible practice because of the animals that they reproduce to have baby animals they live in very bad conditions. They suffer from many genetic diseases due to the constant crossings with animals of their own species. I think when you buy a pet you contribute to this business and the practices that it hide.  Climate change ...

Postgraduate studies

Hi classmates! Today I will tell you about the postgrads studies that I would like to continue my studies. Although I don't know with certainty what postgraduate studies I would like, I am convinced that I would like to continue my studies. There are different areas in which I would like to specialize, more specifically: roles and inequalities of gender, education or statistical research. I believe that a master's degree that allows me to address these different areas is the master's degree in social sciences of the University of Chile, therefore I would like to study this master when I finish my career. For this reason, I would prefer to study a postgraduate degree in Chile instead of continuing my studies abroad. This master is a part-time course, therefore, in case of studying this that would be the modality. But also, would not bother me study a postgraduate through distance learning or blended system. I do not really care to much the postgraduate format. I would like t...

My future job

Hi classmates! Today I will tell you about the job that I would like to have in the future. I study sociology and in the future I would like job as professor at a university in the south of Chile or as educational researcher for a municipality or ministry, ideally in the south of Chile. I imagine it as a challeging but calm job. Also I imagine it as an indoor job, with a beautiful landscape. I would not like travel a lot in my job, because in the future I would like to form a family and I think that traveling a lot it would be complicated for my family. I do not care too much about the salary I would earn in this job, while I have enough to pay for my basics. In my career there are not major or specializing, but I would like to continue studing. More specifically, I would like to continue specializing with a master in the social science, or a master in education, or a diplomat in social research, or a diplomat in public administration. I really like studying and I think that continue...

How to be "Team Human" in the digital future

Hi classmates! Today I talk about the Douglas Rushkoff video, titled "Team Human" and published in TED page.  In the Douglas Rushkoff video he talks about the evolution of the society in the digital future. He begins talking about some tech billionaries and their concerns: how they will safeguard their fortune and material objects if an apocalypse occurs. Douglas Rushkoff think about this and say that the digital economy doesn't like  people, the technology does not help us form solidarity or concern for others. He talks about this with preocupation because he thinks the technology is no directly helping people, but otherwise. He explained that the humans in the tech age are every time more disconnected among themselves, we are more competitive and unconcerned about others. The technology provoke that the people just worry about themselves, makes them more and more individualistic. Douglas Rushkoff proposes that humans have to reconnect with other humans, because the ...

The subject I enjoyed at school: History

Hi classmates! Today I will tell you about the subject I enjoyed at school.  The subject I enjoyed the most at school was History. In this subject I learned so much about the Chilean history, the indigenous groups of Chile and world history. Also I learned a bit about the history of the countries of Latin America. In this subject we did many different entertaining activities, as: watched history movies, we represented a historical moments and different cultures of the indigenous groups of Chile, made models of historical moments, recorded videos about a historical moment and presented a historical moment in the format that we choose. One of the activities that I most enjoyed was when we had to present a historical moment in the format that we choose, because in this activity some classmates did a song about one moment, others created a theatrical performance and I made a little book by hand. I enjoyed so much in this subject because the activities proposed by the teachers were v...

My Best Holiday

Image
Hello classmates! Today I will tell you about my best holiday. My best holiday it was last year, in May. I went to "San Pedro de Atacama" with my father. We spent five days in the village. We visited many beautiful places, as Tatio Geysers, the Valley of the Moon and its salt caverns, Cejar lagoon, salar of Atacama and the "eye of the salar". I enjoyed very much in these places, above all in the Cejar lagoon because in this place we floated in the lagoon without makes the least effort. Also I liked very much to see the Tatio Geysers, although we had to get up very early and we had to bear the cold of the morning in the Andes mountains. In addition I liked to eat the traditional food of this area of Chile and learned about their artcrafts. I loved this place because is calm and it makes you feel like you are inside of the immensity territory that never ends. Thanks for you attention, I leave you some pictures of my travel!

The place I've always wanted to visit

Image
Hi classmates! In this post I will tell you which is the country I've wanted to visit. I've always dreamt to visit Egypt. This country it seems magnificent   because its sphinx and pyramid. I think that these attractions are interesting because of its long history. In adittion, another reason why I would like travel to Egypt is because I would like eat their typical food and know their customs and culture. I really do not know much about this country, and I do not know people who have traveled there. But I've been dreaming to visit Egypt since I was a child. If I would travel to this country I would love to visit and be close to the sphinx and pyramid. I wouldn't like to study or work neither to live there, because this country it is very far from Chile and I'm very close to my family and friends. Only I would like to go on vacation.
