How to be "Team Human" in the digital future
Hi classmates! Today I talk about the Douglas Rushkoff video, titled "Team Human" and published in TED page.
In the Douglas
Rushkoff video he talks about the evolution of the society in the digital future. He begins talking about some tech billionaries and their concerns: how they will safeguard their fortune and material objects if an apocalypse occurs. Douglas Rushkoff think about this and say that the digital economy doesn't like people, the technology does not help us form solidarity or concern for others. He talks about this with preocupation because he thinks the technology is no directly helping people, but otherwise. He explained that the humans in the tech age are every time more disconnected among themselves, we are more competitive and unconcerned about others. The technology provoke that the people just worry about themselves, makes them more and more individualistic. Douglas Rushkoff proposes that humans have to reconnect with other humans, because the evolution's a collaborative act.
I think this is true to some extent, because I think that in this age humans are every time more disconnected among themselves, but I also think that the technology allows us to connect with other people with whom we could not have contact if it was not for the technology.
